Dear Friends,

Thank you for checking out my little writing enterprise.

As some of you know, over the past several years I’ve worked for some big names, helped some cool people make things, and made my own things for the [digital] silver screen. My filmmaker bio, for interested parties, can be found here.

After undertaking these creative tasks while living through my 20s, early 30s, and a pandemic, I currently find myself in what I would like to think of as my poor-millennial-Thoreau era: living outside the city, with no goal other than to finally weave together some of the narrative threads that have been crowding my brain.

So here I sit, beginning what I hope will be an entertaining journey for those of you who decide to read.

What kind of stories can you expect? If my film work is any indication — psychological dramas and thrillers about women who don’t quite fit in the world around them. Above all, I aim to write the kind of fables that I would love to listen to, read…and watch.

For brave subscribers… I envision gladdening your inboxes with a serialized work-in-progress, and other short stories or select material when I need a little more time to suss out plot or character.

If I really get cranking, I may institute a modest pay wall for select material further down the line. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

So again, thank you. And happy reading.

x,

Kyle (aka: Lady Helmer)
